American Pride Automotive FAQs

Q. My car needs repairs that will take longer than a day. Do you offer a loaner vehicle?
A. We do offer loaner vehicles. We also have a relationship with Enterprise Rent-A-Car that allows us to offer a discounted rental in the event you need a vehicle for travel purposes.

Q. Are your repairs guaranteed?
A. Absolutely. Parts and labor are guaranteed for up to 24 months/24,000 miles. Our engine and transmission replacements are guaranteed for up to three years/100,000 miles.

Q. Can you honor my car’s repair warranty?
A. Yes, we can. American Pride Automotive is a certified shop for several different warranty companies. Bring your contract in and we will process the warranty and handle the paperwork for you.

A. My “check engine” light is on. What do I do?
Q. There are a couple of auto parts stores in our area that will perform a no-charge engine light test to tell you what the code means and what part may fix the problem. However, their equipment is limited, and often there is more to the diagnosis they provide. You will get a thorough diagnosis by bringing your car to American Pride Automotive for inspection.

Q. Do I have to schedule an appointment?
A. Not necessarily. However, we can better manage the job by scheduling an appointment. Go to our schedule appointment page to submit a request. We will respond within one business day of your submission. For immediate service, please call us at 757-595-4100.

Q. How do you handle towing, and how much do you charge?
A. Towing is handled on an as-needed basis. American Pride Automotive has contracted with two local towing companies that are reputable, clean, professional and courteous. They will come to your location to pick up the car and you do not have to be present. Towing charges will be incorporated into the bill for the repairs to your car.

Q. Do you carry stock parts or do you order out?
A. We inventory the parts we know to be common on an everyday basis for an auto repair business. We are also surrounded by five major parts suppliers and several new car dealerships that deliver every ten minutes. There is rarely a situation where we cannot get the part needed in the same day.

Q. Do you only offer new part replacements or do you also offer rebuilt or refurbished parts?
A. Every need is different. There are cases where a new part is not economically feasible, so we will research an alternative. We’re also located near several sources of after-market and used parts. You will be presented with several options for a solution.

Q. What forms of payment do you take?
A. Cash, check and every major credit card—VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

Q. Do you offer an in-house payment plan?
A. We offer a 90-day same as cash program through GE Capital Bank. The program provides a quick approval process. It allows our customers to cover the cost of an unexpected extensive repair without any added expense.

Q. Do you take trade-ins for your auto sales?
A. Yes, we do. Of course, we consider the value or feasibility of each trade-in request on a case-by-case basis.

Q. Can I drop my vehicle off outside your normal operating hours?
A. Yes, we have a secure drop box specifically for that. We do recommend you contact us first at 757-595-4100 so we'll know when you're coming and what the service needs are for your vehicle.
